Vietnam: Restaurants and Hotels
Here are some good hotels and restaurants which I would visit again. It´s a small list but I think it´s better to recommend one hotel per city than to list 50 hotels and nobody knows which one is really good.

| Le Le Hotel Pham Ngu Lao Street | The hotel at the center of saigon is clean and friendly. The expensive rooms are about 18 USD, but it´s a reasonable price for the service you get. The hotel is owned by chinese women and they are very friendly and helpful. I remember my birthday when they congratulated me one morning in a very friendly way. |
| The Spring Hotel Le Thanh Ton Street | The luxury hotel is located at the center and has a good relation of price and service. If you want a little bit more luxury in saigon, you should chosse it. Beginning with the golden elevator and ending with the air condition with remote control you will not miss a thing. The rooms cost 35 USD, a suite will cost 50 USD. For this price you will get about 60 sqm divided at two rooms. |
| Restaurant Ashoka Le Thanh Ton Street | Across the spring hotel you will find this indian restaurant. They will serve you the north indian insperated mogul kitchen. In my opinion it´s the most authentic indian restaurant in Saigon. A meal including drinks will cost about 15 USD. |
| Kim´s Cafe+Tour De Tham Street | Cheap high quality food. In addition you can book nearly every tour in Vietnam for a very good price. My favourite food was the fried shrimp in flour for 1,5 USD. Over and above that I took my tour to the Mekong Delta with this travell agency. The three day trip including bus, hotel, boat trips and courier was very nice. The price was 30 USD. |

| Hotel Thuan Loi 18 Tran Hung Dao Street Chau Doc | The rooms for 5 USD including breakfast, are acceptable. The hotel is located direct at the Mekong River, if you can choose you should take a riverside room. I liked the swimming terrace very much, because it´s a great place for a sundowner or the breakfast. |

| Lac Canh Restaurant Hang Ca Street | The best restaurant of the city. A lot of vietnamese people are dining there, and that´s an indicator for the quality of the food. My favourite meal was the marinated beef slices. You have to grill them direct at the table. Great taste. |

| Hotel Europa Nguyen Chi Thanh Street | The hotel is located on top of a small mountain over the lake. The rooms are big, clean and bright. For the single room you should budget about 15 USD including breakfast. The hotel staff is very friendly. They help you booking trips at the Dala area. |
| Thanh Thanh Restaurant Tang Bat Ho Street | Famous as the best restaurant in the city. The spring rools are to die for. For meal including drinks you should budget 12 USD. |

| Restaurant Thanh Thanh Tran Phu Street | The restaurant is located direct at the old quarter of Hoi An. If you take a seat, the chief of the restaurant shows you his photo collection and guest book. It´s a great honour if he allows you to write in it. The speciality of the restaurant are thin sliced beef, which you have to drop into soup. After that you have to wrap the cooked beef into rice paper. |

| News Cafe Hung Vuong Street | First adress for a big breakfast, but it´s also good for dinner. The food is very cheap and the people are very friendly too. For dinner including drinks you should budget 3 USD. |

| Red River Hotel Nha Hoa Street | The mini-hotel is located at the old town of Hanoi. It has only 5 rooms and the same numer of floors. The single room costs 8 USD and the double room 10 USD. The rooms are clean, and have television, air condition, hot water and a balkony. If you´re not hardened you should chosse another hotel, because there is a dog restaurant across the street. Every morning at 5 o´clock they get a delivery of new dogs and they start to slaughter them direct at the street. As result the dogs begin to cry and you can forget sleeping till it´s over. It´s interessting to watch for an European. At the hotel you can book cheap tours to Halong Bay, Perfume Pagoda and Sapa. |
| Restaurant Mama Rosa Le Thai To Street | The restaurant lies across the Hoan Kiem Lake at the old town of Hanoi. If you are tired of the vietnamese food you should visit it. The italian restaurant has fantastic hand-made pasta and pizza. For a meal you should budged about 10 USD. My favourite was the tagliattele with shrimp in cream. Incredible. |
| Restaurant Le Cyclo Hang Da Street | The interior of this restaurant is very special. You will sit in Cyclos (the bicycle-taxis of Hanoi). You can have classic vietnamese or french food. The restaurant is a little bit expensive, a meal will cost you about 20 USD. You should try the shrimp-paste on sugar cane. You will love it. |
| Jazz Club by Quyen Van Minh Luong Van Can Street | This jazz club in the heart of Hanoi offers you live music on every evening. The music isn´t jazz, but the athmosphere of the club is warm. The club is a restaurant also, and the food list is extensive and cheap. For a beer you have to pay 1 USD. |
